This Week In Netflix

For some reason the last two weeks, I just really felt like watching Torchwood again. So, I did just that and went through the first three seasons (the fourth isn't available on Netflix yet...damn it). Being that, I watched less new stuff. But, honestly, you should watch Torchwood. It's good stuff. I also re-watched Firefly, because honestly, it's Firefly. No other explanation needed. Plus, it helped get over these two horrific movies.

Skyline
2010 - Eric Balfour, Donald Faison
Jarrod (Balfour) and his girlfriend Elaine fly to LA for Jarrod's best friend, Terry's (Faison), birthday. The morning after the party, blue lights descend from the sky, mesmerizing anyone who looks at them into a zombie-like state. Alien spaceships enter the atmosphere and start abducting the mesmerized humans. I wanted to like this because of Donald Faison, whom we loved from his days in Scrubs. However, Eric Balfour curses everything he touches, and this is no exception. A little too much Independence Day/Battle: Los Angeles. Bad characters and script. Don't waste your time on it like I did. 1/5

The Traveler
2010 - Val Kilmer, Dylan Neal
A stranger wanting to be known as "Mr. Nobody" (Kilmer) walks into a small town police station and confesses to a series of murders that haven't happened yet. Weak plot. Some pretty bad dialogue. There was no point to this at all. In that sense, it reminded me of The Box or Darkness Falls; like an episode of The Outer Limits or The Twilight Zone stretched out for 90 minutes. I'm still unclear how they got Val Kilmer in this one. At least I made it to the end. 1/5

All you have to say is Firefly and we understand!
Wasn't Skyline AWFUL? Horrible film.

I think I should watch FIREFLY too again, but I'm afraid it will bring tears to my eyes :(

"Eric Balfour curses everything he touches," is a hilariously good way to pre-judge a movie. Although he was moderately tolerable in the show "Six Feet Under."
I recommend the movies: Being Elmo, Death at a Funeral (which has Firefly's Alan Tudyk being hilarious), and Griff the Invisible.

I really have to get around to watching Firefly sometime.

Looks like I'll be staying away from those movies. :P Thanks for the reviews!
