Nerd Fusion

Okay, I'm not one for heavy metal music. In fact, I can honestly say that I almost never listen to it. Nothing against it, at all; it's just not in my top five choices in music style.

And then, yesterday, I saw this video that fused the world of heavy metal with that of Doctor Who.

Prepare to have your faces melted off.

This same guy did heavy metal covers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Back to the Future, and Game of Thrones.

Wow.

Branden's more of the heavy rocker and I'm into emo rock (give me My Chemical Romance any day!) and we both really like this guy! Amazing video!
Oh, and I saw this yesterday and thought it should be part of your shirt collection (if it's not already).

It took me a while to realize it was the theme song. I kept waiting for Dr. Who clips. :) Face melted.

Dare I say I like that more than the original? I LOVE musical genre bending. Like the string quartet Apocalyptica who does classical covers of Metallica songs.
This was awesome to wake up to. Thank you for that.

This guy! Pretty sweet.

I'm not a metal person either. I dated a metal guitarist for a few months when Garrett and I were split up... I rarely went to his shows. Instrumentals- not so bad. It's the fucking vocals that kill me.

Not a fan of heavy metal music myself, but yeah ~ I totally see the awesomeness in that piece :-). Just wow.

Being a very old fishducky, heavy metal isn't my thing. I listened to the video--I admit I had the volume down low--& this guy was amazing! He had some awesome sounds!!!

Love intense music...and this is nice. Tempo changes, mood changes within the piece, nice vibrato on the strings well spaced throughout. Ahhh.

Plus, I love to see a body moved my music.

The same feel is elicted when listening to Rush - one of my all time favorite bands. You may want to check them if if you're not already a huge Rush fan. You know...they are the heavy-metal band of nerds...just sayin'. :}

I listen to Pantera and In Flames - not melting my face off!

Jamie - You got it.

Princess - Thanks for that find!

Libby - He did a great job.

Pickleope - It was a great thing to find on Saturday. It reminds me of the electronica classical stuff.

Indigo - I'd like him to cover other things. Like the Firefly theme song.

azia - So, no Disturbed in your playlist?

Annika - Wow is exactly it.

fishducky - Great sounds, for sure.

Nadja - Never got into Rush.

Alex - I'd like to be that good, but more toward the Django Reinhardt spectrum.

Jaycee - You're a metal fan?! Learn something new every day.

Juli - Yes...yes he does.

Donna - You do, too?! Wow.
