We keep moving forward with the A-to-Z Challenge.
R is for Road Signs to Fantastical Places.

| I'm not sure why these look brown because it's a dark olive green in reality. |
Perhaps the strangest installment on the Nerd A-to-Z Challenge, this one with road signs that measure distance to fantastical places in light years. So...which is your destination of choice?
It's a Firefly map that's on the iPad screen, but I can't find the source to attribute it, so the image has been removed. Just in case.
Well, that one was fun. I don't mean that sarcastically; I mean it really was fun for me to look at that star map and label the worlds I can remember. One interesting thing of note that's not on this map. In the Firefly 'verse, there's a Red Sun that is called Heinlen, and that's just awesome.
All right, folks. Color me insanely busy with work projects today, so if I don't get back to you quickly, it's because real life has once again taken hold. Have great weekends, everyone.
| Not Shown: Star Wars, Firefly, LOTR. |

Okay, Josh, now I know I'm a nerd, too! I recognize every road sign there except for the Firefly reference! But, hey, that's a good thing, right? I'm not a complete nerd, right?
*keep saying that to yourself, Jack. Keep saying that to yourself* :)
I LOVE that shirt so much.
Also "99 problems but a snitch aint one" made me snort coffee out my nose.
Not available already? Not fair!
Where did you get the Firefly map?
I love all your shirts, sweetie.
I'm on book 2 of Game of Thrones, and what I wouldn't give to go to Winterfel.
On the topic of road signs, I live very close to a state park called Bong, after a general with that name, or some such thing. So I get to drive past a very official sign that says "Bong Recreation Center" at least once a week.
That shirt has so many awesome references! Yay for the Firefly 'verse, too! :)
wow! i never realized how many planets were in the firefly solar system!
Why do they have to be SO far away. Also, thought you should see this...

Love the Firefly map - that's pretty awesome.
I didn't know all the places on the shirt. :(
Dang, no distance to Zahadoom. Or is that on the back?
So many choices! Still, it has to be Rivendell. It always has been, always will be.
I gotta go, I think I hear the Greybeards shouting my name.
why isn't Arakis on that shirt?
Great shirt! I'm off to Winterfell. Have a good weekend! :)
My destination of choice--um . . . Hogwarts. Or Rivendell. And Winterfell wouldn't be too bad. (Why do so many Fantasy names end with "ell"?)
The Golden Eagle
The Eagle's Aerial Perspective
I think this one is my favorite shirt now.
And you already know I'll be traveling 9.75 lightyears to get where I wanna go.
BAHAHAAAA! 99 problems but a Snitch ain't one of them.
Please send me to Hogwarts. NOW.
Love,
Janie Junebuggery
I have this weird relationship with Firefly and Battlestar Galactica. I loved both shows but I've only watched them once unlike every other nerd show where I can recite full scenes. Lots of those Firefly references go right over my head.
How do you have room for all these great shirts!?!
By the way, there's a great artist that did a "Superhero Film Alphabet" that you might enjoy:

I was only able to get about 75% (no idea what O and Z are).
Wait. Where is Hawaii? I'm thinking I should start with a place within this planet before I start venturing off into space and alternative universes.
Uhh Hogwarts...I would rule that school.
That shirt sure is great :).
And thank heavens I don't play Skyrim, because then I'd probably just disappear completely into it (I have problems already with disappearing into my Dead Island...).
I love that shirt! Even though I only know 1/3 of them :) I like signs on shirts though :)
Jack - Yes, it is your new mantra.
Laurita - I can't claim credit for that phrase, unfortunately.
Alex - It was part of the Firefly MMORPG they were planning a few years ago.
Lass - Thank you!
Libby - You are not the only one.
Lily - That's really funny.
Shelley - WOOHOO!!
vic - I like to be educational.
S.L. - I love that image!
Jaycee - Is that a good thing?
Dr. Tunguska - Must be too far.
Matthew - I could spend some time there.
DEZ - Not a tourist destination?
Christine - Was the journey pleasant?
Golden Eagle - I think you need to figure that one out and let us know, okay?
Cassie - So many fantastic places to go.
Patty - You're welcome, even if I can't take credit. My other favorite one was "Best Friend Got the Girl...So I Nailed His Sister."
Janie - Did you apparate all right? No problems?
Tanya - I think you need to watch them a few more times through.
Pickleope - That was great fun on the Alphabet, even if a few were...disappointing.
Juli - Nah. Where's the fun?
Kato - Oh yeah? Slytherin then eh?
Annika - Agreed. Not sure when I'll have the time to dedicate.
Hope - You crack me up.
